Introducing X12 Frog & Flip! The next level in Froggin' & Flippin'

|Mick Guthrie

Tired of thick, noisy braid that doesn’t CAST far enough? So were we.

We set out to solve two of the biggest problems anglers face when fishing heavy cover: lack of casting distance and excessive braid noise.

There is a reason serious frog and flipping anglers obsess over braided line. When you are dragging fish out of matted grass, punching hyacinth, or skipping into nasty cover, braid is not optional. It is the tool that gives you the power, hook penetration, and control to win the fight.

But there has always been a tradeoff.

The same braided line that gives you strength often creates two major problems once you start fishing heavy cover consistently.

Problem #1: Lack of Casting Distance Into Thick Mats

One of the biggest topics anglers constantly discuss when it comes to frogging is casting distance. The farther you can launch a frog into the mat, the more untouched water you can reach.

That matters.

Sometimes the biggest bass in the mat are buried way in the back where most anglers simply cannot reach effectively.

The issue is that many braided lines feel rough, stiff, or oversized. They create excess friction coming through the guides, which kills casting distance and prevents a frog from truly flying.

We wanted to solve that.

The new CAST X12 Frog & Flip Braid was engineered with an ultra smooth 12-strand construction specifically designed to reduce friction and maximize casting distance.

The result is a braid that absolutely launches a frog.

Longer casts. Better accuracy. More water covered. More opportunities at fish other anglers cannot reach.

Problem #2: Excessive Braid Noise When Flipping

If you spend enough time flipping heavy cover, you know exactly what we are talking about.

Some braided lines sound rough and loud ripping through the guides.

That harsh line noise becomes even more noticeable when making repetitive short pitches around shallow fish in calm conditions. It is loud, abrasive, and anything but stealthy.

This became our second major focus during development.

We wanted a braid that stayed quiet, smooth, and controlled while moving through the guides.

The X12 Frog & Flip was built to eliminate that rough braided feel and create a stealthier experience while flipping and pitching heavy cover.

The ultra smooth weave dramatically reduces guide noise while maintaining the power needed to pull fish out of the thickest vegetation imaginable.

Less friction. Less noise. More stealth.

Why Smoothness Matters More Than Most Anglers Think

A smoother braid does more than just feel good in your hand.

It impacts:

  • Casting efficiency
  • Line management
  • Accuracy
  • Guide friction
  • Noise reduction
  • Overall control under pressure

When you combine frogging and flipping into one braid, smoothness becomes critical because the demands of both techniques are completely different.

Frogging demands maximum casting performance.

Flipping demands stealth and precision.

Most braided lines lean heavily toward one side or the other.

We wanted both.

Built for Heavy Cover

The X12 Frog & Flip was designed for anglers who spend their time:

  • Frogging matted vegetation
  • Flipping reeds and pads
  • Punching thick grass
  • Targeting pressured bass in heavy cover situations

This is not just another generic braid with a different label slapped on it.

We worked alongside some of the best frog and flipping anglers in the world throughout the development process to help dial in exactly what serious heavy cover fishermen demand from their braid.

Every part of the design focused on solving real problems anglers face on the water.

The Goal Was Simple

Create a braid that:

  • Bombs a frog farther into the mat
  • Stays quiet and stealthy while flipping
  • Feels incredibly smooth through the guides
  • Maintains the strength and control needed for heavy cover fishing

That is exactly what the X12 Frog & Flip was built to do.

If you are serious about frogging and flipping, this is the braid we have wanted to build from day one. And its almost here for you guys!
